Manitou Cliff Dwellings

So I was a nerd last week (well, I'm a nerd most days, but especially last week).  When we were at the Outlet Malls in Castle Rock I picked up a ton of tourist brochures.  We are super into exploring our state right now, and what better way to find things to do!  So I got the Cliff Dwellings brochure, and we figured why the heck not!  I had a day off of work and it sounded fun!  So today was the day.  We went with Grandma and Gigi and had a great day trip.  Here's a million pictures to show the day :)

We were able to climb all around behind and in the dwellings, it was really fun.  Then you come out and see all the faces of the buildings, it's really awesome.

Kissing the Indian for....good luck?  Yes, good luck.

The weirdest part of the Museum.  Yeah, just weird.

Also weird.

Then we went to downtown Manitou Springs and had lunch at this fun cafe.  It was the cutest little downtown...then again, I'm a huge sucker for awesome street shops.

If you went in behind some of the shops, there was this old school Arcade area, but it was in several buildings and I can only imagine what it would be like with all the lights on and so awesome!!

Kai in the Batmobile :)

KiKi refusing to get in the Batmobile

Kai took this pic of me, he's doing pretty good with his photog skillz!

We had so much fun and we're looking forward to our next adventure!

St. Mary's Glacier

I have been working like an animal at PB the past two weeks, due to Cameron not having a job, and the biggest fall floorset in recent years at my work.  So when I found out I had yesterday and today off, we jumped at the chance to do another hike!  We narrowed it down to two hikes, and St. Mary's won out.  I'm SO glad it did.  It was beautiful  and so great.  Minus the kids throwing huge tempers around lunch time.  But it started and ended well, so we're going to remember and go with that!

It was a bit of a rough hike, I won't lie.  It's at 10,000 ft and pretty steep the whole way.  Kai did awesome, Kennedi needed help most of the way.  She did really well though, and we were proud of both of them!

Our first peek at the glacier, can you see it through the trees?

Then you get up to the actual lake, and it is just SO beautiful!

Then we made our way over to the actual glacier.  But careful!

It was a bit breezy and chilly up there, KiKi was SO not a fan!

All along the way we had beautiful views.

We stopped for lunch at the base of this mountain with these gorgeous flowers.  The kids were a total disaster by this point, but I managed to get a good picture of Kai after he had a little sandwich and chips in him!

My handsome man

And with one final goodbye to the mountain, we were gone.

We had a great hike, a beautiful day, and again were reminded how grateful we are to live in such a beautiful place.  I can't wait for our next adventure!  (Maybe we'll just eat a little sooner!)

Like Mothers, Like Daughters

And we wonder where they get it from.

(please appreciate that my daughter looks like a train wreck. And probably a little past the point of sanity.  Hey, like mother like daughter, right?!)
