MLK Day Fun

We went and played in UT over president's day weekend. We got to see my sister from MO, and her new boyfriend, and my sister from northern UT and her hubby. Unfortunately my brother is still on lock down ;) with the police and couldn't come out, and we missed them. But we had a lot of fun...especially in St. George, my most favorite city in the world!

We decided to take Sean (MO sister's bf) up the canyon the first day they got to my parents house. There is a ski resort about 20 minutes up the canyon, and if you take a side road you can get to a lake. Well we knew we wouldn't make it up all the way to the lake, but the rocks are so cool up there, we had to go part way. We HAD to go part way, against all advice from the experienced.....and thus we had an experience!

Ooohhh.....how pretty......

Yes, yes, lovely...mmmm hhhmmm......

Hmmm? What was that? Why aren't we going anywhere?

Oh.

Welcome to the family Sean!

Thankfully it was a beautiful day, it only took about an hour to get out....probably would have happened sooner if we had realized we had taken it OUT of 4 wheel drive.... and not put it IN 4 wheel drive like we thought....hehehe.....he. moving on.

The red rocks are always fun. We used to live in St. George when I was little, and we'd go play on them, and we have pictures of us hiding in all the holes....it is so awesome to have the same pictures of my son hiding in the holes. Last time we were there he was so hesitant and didn't want to do anything but this year he LOVED it. He was all over the rocks, giving his mom a heart attack half the time! Here's a few of my favorite pics.

Some family pics.....

The three girls!

All the girls with dad :)

And to finish off the trip, on our way back home we stopped at Georgetown Lake and walked across it. Okay, like 15 ft across it. It was cold! And scary. :(

My dad and I were talking about how fun it is to be able to share these experiences with our kids. When Cameron and I were first pregnant we were a little disappointed that we wouldn't be able to do all the things we wanted, but being able to show Kai all these awesome things, and to watch the excitement and joy he has doing this stuff with us is a million times better. I love my little family!

This is going to sound weird....

But I was doing laundry today (that's not the weird part, though Cameron might disagree), and I'm putting Kai's clothes into the dryer.....and it's so cute (and weird, I get that) but for the first time ever I washed his underwear! We just started potty training him yesterday, and as I was washing his clothes, it hit me that I have a lot more underwear cleaning days ahead of me! But it's so cute to see the little dinosaur undies in the wash! OK, I'll stop with the weirdness. But he is doing really great, we've done it for two days, and he's had 2 1/2 accidents. I say a half, because this morning he did tell me he had to go, but we couldn't get the jeans off fast enough :( so it was part mom's fault! We started yesterday morning, he didn't seem to get the concept yesterday morning, but by the afternoon, he was not enjoying the cold baths (thanks for the tip Deb!) or the wet underwear. So we're pretty excited. And so is he! Can I say hallelujah for no more diapers!!

Family picture sidebar

Because I have to explain every picture apparently. So the picture up top o' the blog was taken at Christmas....and I don't love it of me, but how hilarious is Kai's face? He's like seriously people, this is the last one.

Late Shout Out

Here's a late shout out to my sister-in-law....it was her birthday Saturday! Happy Birthday Rach! We love you!!!

Winter Wonderland?

I think not. It took Cameron an hour and 45 minutes to get to work this morning. The usual 15 to 20 minute commute. I called him at 9:30 to make sure he got to work safe...he was still on the road..... he had left at 8:00. We went to bed last night with howling winds and woke up to snowing. I think I prefer last Thursday's weather, where it was 61 and Kai and I played at the park and took a walk. If I could just put an order in for more of that, please? Thank you.

I've been working on it for a while

But just haven't gotten around to posting it. Now it's way late and no one cares anymore....least of all me! But, here is a recap of our Christmas. For Christmas we went to Albuquerque, and had so much fun! We got to spend it with my family, and my brother, who, due to the air force, we haven't been able to spend a holiday with in a long time! While we were there he graduated from the Albuquerque Police Academy! It's so hard to believe my brother is a cop! We are so proud of him! We had a great Christmas morning...and even though Kai was so excited...I think he was a little confused...(see picture below)! He has a couple of favorite presents, and it works out so well because they are all from different people! He loves a book his aunt Rachel and uncle Jon gave him, and has to read it every day before nap and before bed. He loves the movie Madagascar, which he has to watch everyday, that we gave him. He loves his smart cycle, which was from his grandparents, and he loves his dump truck that my grandparents gave him. So he made out good! Here's a few pics :)

My niece Jordyn.....trying to sneak in there, sheesh!

We took a few family pictures while we were there, which is a first in a really long time! This is of my family....pretty small!
My siblings...

Kai and his only cousin on this side, Jordyn....

Four generations...
It was great to get together. Next time we are together for Christmas, I'm hoping there are a few more additions from everyone!
