So Kennedi used to be a great sleeper. She's slept through the night from about 3 1/2 months on. Well then she had this teething thing which made her wake up a TON a night. We managed to get it down to about once. But the thing is, she shares a room with Kai, so we can't just let her cry it out, right? Well she has gotten into this habit of waking up twice a night and we have to feed her and then put her back to bed. A HUGE hassle, and completely unnecessary. My 20+ lb baby will be just fine to sleep through the night for 8 hours without eating. So Cameron and I decided that we're just going to have to put the kids in separate rooms and let her cry it out. So last night was the night. We were going to do it. Kai was going to have a "sleepover" with us, so it'd be perfect. PLUS, we watched a few minutes of SuperNanny (which we NEVER watch) and she was helping the parents make the kid sleep in his own room and not theirs. So motivated we were. We watched as the kid cried for 5...10...15...20....30 minutes. Then fell asleep. We can do this. She'll zonk herself out in no time.
So we put her down (which is never a problem, FYI). She sleeps, then per the usual, wakes up about 1:30. So, we let her cry.
2 1/2 hours later, she finally falls asleep. TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER. This girl was NOT giving up. But neither did we. So after 4 in the morning she finally falls back asleep. Then wakes up again at 6:30, which we then fed her because that's around her normal wake up time. Then she went back to sleep and woke up at 8:30. It's going to be a heck of a day. And then we get to do it all again tonight. Wish us mega luck.
Oh to remember the days of sleep and the non-stubborn....

We're dealing with the exact same thing at our house! Letting the first one cry-it-out was no problem, but when you've got a second baby it's ridiculous how long they scream and it wakes up your other kids! Jacob gets up between 3 & 4 a.m. every morning like clockwork, and he's well over 18 lbs. I'm DONE with the early mornings! Good luck with your little girl! She sure is a cutie!
